AFSCME, LOCAL 685 AWARDS BANQUET
The Los Angeles County Deputy Probation Officers’ Union, AFSCME Local 685, AFL-CIO, represents nearly 4,000 peace officers and other employees working for the County of Los Angeles. On April 29, 2005, our union will hold its second annual awards banquet. This gala event will celebrate the 60th anniversary of AFSCME, Local 685. Since May 2, 1945, we have proudly served and protected the residents and visitors of Los Angeles by providing a valuable public safety service. One of the most gratifying services provided by our members is juvenile rehabilitation. Through early intervention, we strongly believe many juvenile lives will be saved and many more will be prevented from entering into a life of crime. On April 29, 2005 we will celebrate our long and proud history, honoring other law enforcement members, legislators, community and business leaders, and young adults. In addition to the awards program, the evening will include an art exhibit, dinner, music, and etc…
Proceeds from this event will be used to support college scholarships for at-risk youth, the California Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation, and the Los Angeles County Deputy Probation Officers’ Memorial Foundation. On behalf of nearly 4,000 probation officers and other employees working for the County of Los Angeles come join us as we celebrate our 60th anniversary. You can contact us at
