Retirement security for California public employees is under attack – and we’re fighting back!

Watch this brief TV news clip, one of many media reports featuring activists from Council 36 and across California at a press conference on pension reform at the State Capitol on December 1, 2011.

Council 36 members such as Monica De la Torre (pictured below), a 911 emergency operator for the City of LA and member of Local 3090, flew to Sacramento to testify on pension reforms for the Joint Legislative Conference Committee on Public Employee Pensions. Others at the hearing from our Council included Isabella Meni, a Vice President of our Council and a transportation employee in the City of Carson, and Council 36 Business Representative Steve Koffroth.

Click here to see a PDF transcript of De la Torre’s public comments at the Joint Legislative Conference Committee hearing.

In addition, check us out on Facebook to see photos from the press conference held before the committee hearing (with thanks to Steven Maviglio for posting them).
