AFSCME is proud to be hosting our 2020 Public Service Presidential Forum on August 3rd at the University of Nevada, in Las Vegas. At the forum, which will be moderated by the Huffington Post and the Nevada Independent, AFSCME members will have the opportunity to question the 2020 candidates directly about how they will support public service workers and our right to stand together in a strong union. Check out: https://publicserviceforum.com.

We now have at least 15 confirmed candidates, including: Rep. Seth Moulton, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Marianne Williamson, Gov. Jay Inslee, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Sen. Cory Booker, Tom Steyer, Rep. John Delaney, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Sen. Kamala Harris, Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Sec. Julian Castro, Mayor Bill de Blasio and Rep. Tim Ryan.

This is a great opportunity for OUR union to make sure the people who want to be President of the United States understand who WE are and what WE care about. To help YOU be part of this important event AFSCME is working with affiliates to arrange free transportation from southern California to the forum in Nevada.

Buses are chartered to depart from Riverside on Friday, August 2 at 11:30 am. The buses will transport members to the hotel in Las Vegas on the night of the 2nd, provide transport to the Presidential Forum event on the morning of the 3rd, and bring everyone back to California on the afternoon of the 3rd upon completion of the forum.

If you are interested in one of the limited spots to this free event please reach out to your affiliate leadership for more information. To guarantee space,  AFSCME California affiliates must turn in attending members names by July 23rd .   Do not wait and miss out on this historic opportunity!
