It is with great sadness that Council 36 has learned the passing of former Local 3947 President Dr. Roosevelt Peters Jr.

Dr. Peters worked for the City of Compton as an Accountant from July 1, 1998 until his retirement on October 5, 2016. He was instrumental in the City of Compton becoming an affiliate of AFSCME District Council 36. Dr. Roosevelt believed in helping others and worked tiresly as President of AFSCME Local 3947 and as a Vice President of AFSCME District Council 36.

Dr. Peters passed away on December 19, 2020 and will surely be missed.
