It is with great sadness that we share that a member of AFSCME Local 1117 experienced a fatal traffic collision Thursday morning, July 8, 2021.  While traveling to begin his route, Transit Bus Operator Johnny Camarillo suffered a fatal accident and passed away. 

Johnny worked for the Transit Department beginning his career with the Apprentice Relief Bus Operator Program in 2013.  He began his next assignment as Relief Bus Operator in 2014, and promoted to Bus Operator in 2015. 

His co-workers have shared many words describing his positive nature. Please keep the Camarillo family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
