AFSCME Local 741 remembers its first president

It is with great sorrow that Council 36 has learned of the passing of Richard Andrews, the founding President of Local 741 -- representing LA City Part Time Workers in the Rec and Parks Dept. He helped to organize the union and served as its first president from 2001-2004.

Services took place on February 17, 2018 at the Love and Unity Church in Compton, attended by a number of Local 741 and Council 36 members and staff.

Brother Andrews is seen pictured on the right. AFSCME sends deep sympathies to the family and honors his service to the union.
