Igor has been an organizer and negotiator in the labor movement for over a decade. Prior to joining AFSCME District Council 36 in the summer of 2019, he worked with UNITE HERE and AFT, organizing workers around the country. In addition to labor organizing, Igor has a depth of experience in political advocacy and campaigns. He is a former board member of the San Fernando Valley Young Democrats, the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley, and was an elected delegate to the Democratic State Central Committee.  In his spare time, Igor is active with progressive Jewish organization Bend the Arc, where he serves as co-chair of the Immigration Justice Committee. He is also the founder and President of the Bourbon Union, an organization focused on whiskey education (after work hours, of course). Igor holds BAs in Public Policy and Communication Studies from California State University Northridge. Originally from Ukraine, Igor is fluent in Russian and speaks a bit of Spanish.
