Just a few days later, all 70 workers that would have been covered by a union contract were laid off and the Foundation closed its doors to the public. The Marciano family have a long history of violating workers’ rights and this was another gross and highly illegal action on their part.

Three years ago, the City of Lynwood passed a one cent sales tax bill known as the Penny Tax. The initial bill included a 10-year sunset, but last night, 75.16 percent of Lynwood voters passed Measure PS which will extend the tax bill indefinitely.
