Council 36 Remembers Sandra Fox

Council 36 is sad to hear about the passing of Sandra Fox.

Sandra Fox was the President of Local 2076 from 2010-2014 as well as Vice-President of Council 36. She was also a Local steward. She will be greatly missed.

AFSCME District Council 36 ratifies tentative agreement with City of Los Angeles

All six Los Angeles City locals affiliated with AFSCME District Council 36 have ratified the tentative agreement.

Flo Smith Joins the Council 36 Executive Board

Floylaina “Flo” Smith grew up in Compton, CA and later relocated to San Bernardino County in 1997. She received her Associates Degrees in Administration of Justice and Early Childhood Education in 2013. She currently works as a Police Records Clerk for the city of Dessert Hot Springs. She joins the Council 36 Executive Board as Vice President of District 3. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time and making unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Support JVS Members' Fight For a Fair Contract

We're requesting your support for 90 workers employed in two separate bargaining units at JVS SoCal (formerly Jewish Vocational Services) represented by AFSCME Local 800. This includes the case managers, job developers and clerical staff working in the LA County GAIN Program. Negotiations have been ongoing for over a year and JVS SoCal is taking the most hostile and anti-working family positions that our union has ever experienced with them or any other entity.

LA County Members Receive a Pay Increase

Los Angeles County & Court employees received a pay raise! Congratulations to our members who received a 2.65% or 3% pay raise effective January 1, 2021. This is just one of many wins for our members.

Please note: As a result of these pay raises, AFSCME members working for these LA County locals will see a nominal increase in union membership dues. We wanted to bring this to your attention so that you can understand and track these changes on your paycheck.
